IC Ghost ($GHOST) is the first MEME coin project on the IC chain, launched on the SNS ecological application governance system. Holders can vote and govern the project on the SNS platform. Yesterday, we invited the IC Ghost team representative LianGuailangga to the ICP Chinese community for an AMA session. As the first AMA since the establishment of IC Ghost, LianGuailangga answered many questions for ICP enthusiasts.

Host: In the current cryptocurrency market, there are MEME coins based on emojis and MEME coins based on popular culture. Which category does IC Ghost belong to? Also, please briefly introduce IC Ghost.

IC Ghost is unique in the world of MEME coins, as it is at the intersection of humor and decentralized utility. Our project actually originated from the idea of creating NFTs based on the ICP ecosystem. We have always had a fondness for cartoons related to “ghosts” and believe that the concept of “ghosts” is both interesting and thought-provoking. Therefore, we see $GHOST as a whimsical spirit that adds humor and a relaxed atmosphere to the crypto world. Our goal is to bring these humorous elements into the decentralized world while providing practical utility. Essentially, we hope that every member of the ICP community can find an interesting friend in $GHOST and make the entire ICP ecosystem more fun.
Host: But why did you choose to establish this project on the IC chain? Or in other words, what was the original intention behind establishing IC Ghost?

In June of last year, we noticed a gap in the ICP ecosystem – there was no MEME project that could interact with the community in a fun and relaxed manner. It was at that time that we decided to launch $GHOST. Our main purpose was to airdrop the majority of $GHOST to as many users in the ICP ecosystem as possible, in order to establish a strong and vibrant MEME ecosystem.
From the very beginning, $GHOST has been community-focused. We initially adopted the EXT token standard, with 51% of the tokens directly airdropped to community users. In addition, we have collaborated with a series of projects within the ICP ecosystem to provide additional airdrops to their users. If you are an ICP enthusiast, you have likely already received $GHOST tokens and NFT airdrops.
Since its launch on SNS platforms, $GHOST has evolved into a 100% community-driven project. We believe in the power of decentralized governance, which is why $GHOST is more than just a meme coin. Our community members are not passive bystanders; they are active co-creators and real decision-makers behind the project. Driven by decentralized governance, this strong community participation sets $GHOST apart and distinguishes it from mere meme coins.

• Community Participation: SNS is an ecosystem application governance platform on the IC chain, aligning perfectly with our vision of creating a 100% community-driven project. This is crucial for the development and governance of IC Ghost.
• Technological Collaboration: SNS provides us with existing tools and infrastructure related to DAO. This allows us to leverage them to provide a better experience for the community.
• Decentralization: Independent token launches often require centralization, especially in maintenance and governance.

In the world of meme coins, rapid growth is usually achieved through pump-and-dump, viral marketing, or token economics designed specifically for scarcity and burning (token destruction to reduce supply). However, as a DAO, $GHOST has a more comprehensive and sustainable approach to growth.
• Community-driven decision-making: As a DAO, $GHOST can benefit from collective governance. Each member has a say in the direction of the project, which can improve decision-making and deepen community participation and ownership.
• Utility and ecosystem building: Our long-term roadmap includes providing valuable utilities for the community. From staking and mining in DeFi, to a $GHOST-themed NFT marketplace, to a metaverse virtual world tailored for the $GHOST community, these utilities will drive user participation and create multiple value streams.
• Education program: We will launch webinars and other educational content. Educated members are empowered members who can contribute more effectively to the $GHOST ecosystem.

Host: Many ICP enthusiasts are puzzled as to why many projects did not list on CEX soon after the launch of SNS Swap. It is well known that listing on CEX is an effective way to attract funds and attention. Technically, ICP ecosystem projects can independently plan their listing on CEX without waiting for coordination from the DFINITY Foundation. Does IC Ghost have such plans? How is the progress now? Please share with us.
LianGuailangga:
We acknowledge that many in the broader ICP community are curious and concerned about why many projects, including IC Ghost, have not yet listed on CEX despite launching on SNS Swap. While integrating tokens with CEX does not pose significant technical barriers, there must be other considerations and factors at play.
• Cost: Listing on a CEX usually requires a high listing fee, which may be burdensome for community-driven projects like ours.
• Strategic Focus: Our current focus is to continuously increase the value and utility of $GHOST, thereby strengthening the community. We believe that the true value of a project depends on the wide range of use cases and the strength of its community, not just its listing on an exchange.
• Community Trust: We understand the community’s desire for CEX listings. We are actively working on multiple fronts, but we cannot promise specific timelines as we do not want to compromise the trust and support we receive from the community.
Host: But you should already have CEX partners by now, right?
LianGuailangga:
We have reached out to some CEXs, but they have stated that they will first research SNS.
Host: One last question, what are your views on the future of the ICP ecosystem? How can IC Ghost contribute to the ICP ecosystem?
LianGuailangga:
We are very optimistic about the future of the ICP ecosystem and believe it to be a fertile ground for innovation and community participation. IC Ghost is unparalleled in its focus on decentralization, speed, and security, making it the center for the next generation of digital services. We know you’re curious about the $GHOST metaverse! Our current focus is on creating an amazing game demo, which will lay the foundation for our vision. Although we cannot reveal all the details yet, please know that we are committed to building an extraordinary product.
Community Member: We are currently in a bear market. Therefore, due to the current market conditions being too unstable, it has discouraged investors. Can you give me some compelling reasons to buy $GHOST in this market situation? And why should your token holders continue to hold?
LianGuailangga:

This is not just “our project,” but owned and operated by the community. Team members only hold 4.08% of the tokens, with a minimum lock-up period of one year. This ensures that our interests are aligned with the long-term development of the community.

We are pleased with the community’s enthusiastic participation in the token burn proposal. The vote has passed, but for us, it is crucial to act thoughtfully and responsibly.
While burning tokens may seem like a quick victory, it may contradict the decentralized spirit at the core of $GHOST. We believe in the sanctity of private property. Therefore, we will take extra time to engage in in-depth discussions with the community to weigh the long-term impact of this decision.

Community members: Does IC Ghost’s treasury need to change LP strategy as soon as possible? I believe LP can become a long-term source of revenue for the treasury, similar to MakerDAO’s profit model, depending on the community’s active trading volume, so I think LP should be adjusted as soon as possible. We can propose using one-third of the treasury to buy $GHOST on the market and then reset LP. Given time, there should be a decent return, driving listing on CEX, and the LP’s earnings and fund volume are expected to grow exponentially.

Thank you for providing such important suggestions, which made us realize that LP can serve as a long-term source of income for $GHOST, just like the profit model of MKR DAO relying on active community transactions.
