On May 23, the Nanjing 2023 Metaverse Application Co-creation Conference was held in Jianye to present the development of the Metaverse industry, explore cutting-edge trends in the industry, attract high-quality Metaverse technology companies to fully exchange and integrate, and bring more innovative and application-based new opportunities for the development of Nanjing’s Metaverse industry.

“Xiaomo,” the digital character created by Jianye High-tech Zone, made its first public appearance, impressing the audience with its professional skills and delicate appearance.
“Xiaomo” takes on the role of a digital “guide,” interacting with guests “face-to-face.” Through its intelligent recommendations, guests can intuitively understand the planning and construction of Jianye High-tech Zone, the layout of industries, and other information, making it everyone’s “virtual companion” and “intimate friend.”
Currently, China has begun to build a Metaverse industry with Chinese characteristics focusing on technological innovation and the integration of manufacturing. Under the guidance of the “14th Five-Year Plan” for the development of the digital economy, as of early April, more than 120 Metaverse construction plans and industry support policies have been introduced by over 40 provincial, municipal, and county-level governments nationwide, promoting the rapid development of Metaverse-related industries. Laying out new arenas in the digital economy and Metaverse industry, and comprehensively promoting digital development has become a common consensus throughout the country.
After gradually focusing and continuing to deepen, Jianye has formed an industrial layout dominated by “finance + digital economy” and headquarters economy, galloping on the track of the metaverse, and Jianye has a solid industrial foundation.
At present, Jianye is vigorously building a higher-level modern international city center, providing a broad stage, rich space and unlimited possibilities for the application and development of the metaverse. In addition to the digital economy, education, medical care, old-age care and other fields, the metaverse will also open up pilot application scenarios in many fields such as game animation, fashion consumption, cultural art, and digital governance, empower urban modern governance, and promote its better support for decision-making, service governance, and empower the grassroots.
With the advent of the concept of the metaverse, consumer metaverse has become a hot topic, and consumer metaverse will lead a new consumption era and become a new growth point of the global economy.

“‘Metaverse + Live Broadcast’ not only drives the innovation and upgrading of live broadcast scenes, but also with clear display, diverse scenes, and immersive experience, it will become a new development direction of live broadcast e-commerce. It is expected to solve the problems of network delay, blurry picture, and live broadcast stuttering that are often faced in current live broadcasts, and also enhance the authenticity and fun of live broadcast sales.”
Wu Zhongze, former deputy minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology, gave a keynote speech on “Cultivating a New Track of Metaverse Industry and Strengthening New Momentum for the Development of Digital Economy” to grasp the discourse power and initiative of future metaverse industry development, achieve “bend overtaking” in the next generation of Internet field, and suggest that relevant departments should establish a special fund for metaverse technology, make forward-looking deployment of a batch of strategic and reserve technology research and development projects for the metaverse, focus on tackling the underlying technologies of the metaverse, including terminal system chips, space computing, holographic fields, brain-computer interfaces, etc., and cultivate the future network ecology.
As an important high-tech industry cluster area, Jianye High-tech Zone is an important support for Nanjing’s scientific and technological innovation and economic development. In recent years, the park has focused on the positioning of the “digital economy + modern finance” dominant industry, accelerated the upstream and downstream ecological aggregation, and built a highland for the digital economy headquarters in Jiangsu Province, driving the vigorous development of the digital economy, and has formed a nationally influential digital economy headquarters cluster area. A group of digital economy leading enterprises such as Alibaba, Xiaomi, and Tencent have settled here, attracting related upstream and downstream enterprise clusters, and forming a cluster of technology industries and innovative enterprises. Especially in the fields of financial technology, artificial intelligence, digital culture and creativity, and industrial Internet, the advantages are obvious.
At the event, the China Mobile Communications Federation’s Metaverse Industry Working Committee Jiangsu Base was officially established in Jiangning District, and the China Metaverse Technology and Application Innovation Platform and the Jiangsu Chain Collection Metaverse Research Institute signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Jiangning High-tech Zone. In the fields of finance, culture and tourism, consumption, and smart cities, they attracted a group of top metaverse companies with industry influence and industrial driving force to come to Jiangning, join Jiangning, and become “special partners” for the development of the metaverse industry in Jiangning.
